Econyl

Some of our textile rugs contain econyl yarn. The Econyl yarn is recycled nylon from various sources. A significant part of the material collected comes from abandoned fishing nets on seabeds, so-called ghost nets. Such nets are often a great danger to marine life that gets stuck and cannot get away, even endangered species because no one looks over them and sorts the catch, or takes advantage of it at all. Instead of landfill or abandoned nets at the bottom of the sea, we think that the material should be recycled and used again. Using the recycled material instead of new raw material can reduce energy consumption in production by 50%, and also reduce greenhouse gas emissions. For further information, visit econyl.com
